Well I guess it depends on what characteristics are important to you. Some bantams can be quite flighty, others (like some silkies) can be downright snuggly. I see bantam flocks and breeding groups for sale quite often on Used Nanaimo and Cowichan. Maybe take a look!

Hi there. Have you tried looking on used Victoria. I know there were some for sale up in Nanaimo. I'm looking for someone to buy standard Houdans chicks from in the new year. Does any one know anyone?

Hi, I'm also from vancouver island. You could try little red hen hatchery in maple ridge, I'm getting some chicks from there in a few weeks. Or maybe beau peep hatchery if you want to wait a few months since I don't think they are doing any more orders until 2016 (their in chilli wack but they ship). Not sure if they have that breed but you could always request.

All of the above mentioned sources are great. Have bought from Beaupeep and they have really good customer service. There is also Classic Acres I know she has spitzhaubin but I'm not sure about houdans. Beaupeep would definety be able to tell you who has them if they can't get them for you.

Unfortunately most of us are done for the year and won't have chicks again until the spring. We do blue and black ameraucanas, blue and black silkies, silver laced polish and white chanteclers currently. Want to add a darker layer next year and leaning towards Welsummers.... Such difficult decisions hahaha!
