Varieties of Old English Game?

What hatchery are you looking at?

Also what state are you in?

I know different techniques have different ways of doing things by me TSC usually gets chicks from 2-3 different hatcheries so I would be surprised if yours doesn't.

To me the oegb look like black breasted reds. I got a cockeral bbr oegb from tsc once.

Since then I have owned blacks, self blue, silver dw(adopted as adults), also a blue brassy backed hen adopted as an adult.
Black Breasted Red is the kind of Old English Game I posted..... bbreds are old english games so same thing thst we all said already

I did know that, thank you everyone for double checking. I just wasn't sure since someone said that could be what they were that it wasn't a color variety like occasionally in barred rocks a white rock can appear if they have recessive traits.

I was under the impression that my choices are only brown, silver duckwing, and red pyle unless there is the possibility for recessive traits that would make another variety possible.

I am located in NY. My tractor supply gets their chicks from 3 different hatcheries, however, only one of those hatcheries supplies bantams according to the 2 different people I spoke to over the phone at TSC. I then called that hatchery directly to find out which breeds of bantams they are currently breeding and sending as possibilities to my TSC.

Mostly what I wanted to know was if anyone knew of different things to look for in differentiating between the silver duckwing and the brown OEGB. From the mixed responses of these posts it sounds like only time will tell since in either case the chicks will eventually feather out differently as adults.

Thank you everyone for your help!

As the op said we were discussing if it could be a color possibility not if it were an oegb. I too am aware that bbr is a color of many breeds including oegb.

As far as the chicks they look nothing like a brown red oegb to me and that's the only "brown" oegb I can find.

So I'm guessing either they forgot a color, it was accidentally sent with the tsc order, or it has to be a duckwing of some sort. I think only time will really tell.
