Hey guys...just signed on today. I am looking forward to learning and also answering a lot of questions about incubation habits. I've used both still air and automatic incubators with great success. Please keep in mind that all incubators will work off the humidity in your area. Is it high? Is it low? Here's my method. I have found that if you use digital incubators the temp does not stay the same if you have it full. Even though I have a digital and all is preset, I still rotate my eggs once a day. It took me a couple of tries to figure out that has been my problem. I hatched German Coturnix Quail a couple weeks ago with a 50% hatch rate. Some hatched on day 16-17, but then some others not until day 20. I learned then that the temperature was different and I had not rotated my eggs at all. I now have 56 chuckar quail in my incubator and I have been rotating them once a day for 7 days now. I'm hoping this will correct any differences in hatching time...I shall let you know. Thanks guys....

Thanks to all...I will certainly be talking more about raising and hatching chickens. I will also cap on how I make broken air cells heal before hatching....Keep in mind that these methods that I will discuss later on are mine, but hopefully these methods will also help others. I've been raising chickens, quail, turkeys, peafowl, guineas, wood ducks, mandarins and so much more for many years. Over 50 years experience...Time to pass some things on....
