I read that vasoline on chickens combs will help them from getting frostbit. Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with this? THANKS!

Yes it works and can help. You have to do this in advance (a day or two ahead and done often) of bitter temps setting in tho. Hens usually tuck their heads when roosting it's the roosters with large single combs that this happens to alot even if they are in the best of coops. Most will lose tips but severe frostbite on their combs can happen.
