Vasoline on crops or Bag Balm (not the one for cows udders)

I know this topic has been discussed before; but, has anyone used Bag Balm (skin moisturizer-not for cows) instead of vasoline? We are in MA with 2 to 5 degrees expected tonight. I have six Golden Comets.

I've used bag balm for cows on my chickens and its worked. Not sure about the skin moisturizer
