Vegans of BYC!!

@Pollo Blanco this is a thread for vegans, vegetarians, people who try to source their food more ethically, and anyone who comes here to learn, or peacefully interact in a non argumentative or confrontational way.

If you just want to argue, or inform us that we are wrong for not eating meat or for eating synthetic ingredients, please don’t reply to this thread, I really love it and think it’s awesome that we can chat about this topic on a chicken forum, and would appreciate if we could keep this thread up and positive 🙂.

Actually, chickens laying so many eggs is one of the most unnatural things in the world. Over the years, chickens have robbed of their natural traits, this one bodily, and have been overbred and exploited for many centuries, resulting in reproductive problems and sometimes early death. Jungle Fowl, the actual wild counterpart of chickens, lay only 20 eggs a year, and, for the same reason domestic chickens lay eggs, are to reproduce and have chicks. I personally do eat my girls eggs, but in the future, I plan on being Vegan, when I am out of the house. 💚
Laying eggs is a natural process for them

Be sure to get a copy of Laurel's Kitchen.
It's a must have for Vegans, vegetarians or anyone else who takes nutrition seriously.
There's quite a few others that make nice additions, but Laurel is a true pioneer in the world of healthy eating 😀
Thanks so much! I have a hard time finding healthy stuff to eat sometimes and alot of vege/vega cookbooks I have, go into fancy, elegant meals that I'm just not into making and taking a long time to make when I'm hungry. 💚

Cook lots of beans and rice up ahead of time!
Rice is best after a refrigerator rest after cooking. With practice comes proficiently.
If I was to sub the pork for tofu, and vegetable broth for the chicken broth, this would still be a delicious, delightful meal that would stick to your ribs. Yes, it tastes as good as it looks! 😋
