Vegetable Soup Hatch-a-long eggs are here!

If you have a q tip, you can dip it in warm water or oil and moisten the white part of the membrane to see the veins a little clearer! It looks to me like he may be close to being ready. Is he making frequent chewing motions still?

When I assist, I take a little more shell off, wet the membrane, then tear the whole around the beak a bit bigger, enough for the head to come through. Then I put back in the incubator and let the baby push out when they are ready. So exciting!

I think it will be a light colored chick! I definitely don’t see black!

The eggs are on day 20, last night they were peeping, I had not heard that earlier, and this morning i saw them wiggling eggs. I will help tomorrow if they are still in their eggs, I would like them to kick off their own egg shells. I think they are taking so long, because of shipping shock, and getting the incubator flipped,

Having hatched a lot of shipped eggs, I would suggest helping immediately, if they were peeping yesterday and today not so much. I have lost many babies to waiting too long to help. But never lose them if I help early on, before they get too weak.

I am going to wait a bit longer, Barley is almost out.
Below are Montana chicks.
