Vegetables that you can feed you chicks

Is it ok to feed the chicks 5 to 6 wk olds
Greens such as, roman lettuce, spinach,
Ice berg lettuce. From your ref?

It is ok to do so. It's better diced finely but they can tear off pieces of lettuce. A chick foraging with a mother hen would be doing the same.

My chicks have always loved fresh pulled dandelion leaves and clover.

I've been giving my 3.5 week old chicks greens for most of a week. Lettuce, spinach, pea shoots, kale. They love it! I do tear it up into smaller pieces, but it disappears quickly.

Oh! Don't forget if you feed anything other than starter feed make sure they have access to chick grit (I mix a *little* in with their food and leave a dish out for them). Otherwise they can't digest it.
