Vegetarian Chickens?

Thanks for this post. Someone just asked me if my chickens were vegetarian and I asked if they considered insects meat?!? I don't feed my chickens meat, but they do eat a lot of bugs (which they love). I even help them dig down into the soil to find the big, juicy worms! I can't imagine how you would prevent the chickens from eating insects (even if you locked them in a cage, the occasional ant would have to make its way in there). This just seems cruel and silly. My chickens eat organic feed, plus a lot of fresh fruits and veggies (to go along with the bugs they catch).
