Vegetation in run?

But it will take over and ruin your mesh runs walls/roof.

I was thinking more of an independent trellis system for them to grow on. Or you can prune/train wisteria to grow into a free-standing shrub/tree of sorts. With regular care and maintenance I don't think it's an issue to have them on your wire fences though.

Some people have the time and energy to do it... and might be fine... I know I don't. I can barely keep the forsythias from taking over my life. They're too tall for me to reach at this point so I've given up... But I see lots of people with pruned bushes and vines who can manage (or pay somebody else to manage).

I purchased my first forsythia this year...meadowlark forsythia. I ordered it from the east coast. I can't wait to see it grow next year!

These things are monsters. Mine grow 6+ feet in a single season! I have to prune them several times a year. And they spread horizontally, too. They're awesome if you want a fast-spreading plant, but do take some work to contain. They're so pretty in the spring though, I think it's worth it.

I'm glad to hear this because that is EXACTLY what I want. I have some neighbors that get too close to my bedroom window and need some coverage. Have you ever tried rooting the branches in water? I cut a branch off and put it in water hoping to plant another one in the spring.

I haven't tried it for the purpose of propagation, I've just cut branches in the spring and put them in water in the house to enjoy as a cut flower, when they bloom, and they usually die out without growing roots... but maybe spring is not a good time to do this... Once they get going, they're easy to propagate because their extremely long straight branches curve down, and wherever they touch the ground, they root themselves and form a new plant. So they spread by "crawling" like that. You can wait until the branches get long enough to curve and reach the ground (or help them by pinning the end of a branch to the ground), and root themselves, and then you can cut off the new rooted plant and plant it somewhere else (after it has grown enough roots to support itself away from the parent plant).
