Funny you should post this! I have hatched many chicks, but this last hatch was so different!
I put 7 eggs in my new incubator for a test hatch. At day 6 I saw nothing in 6 of them, not even veins. Well, I waited a couple of days and put in a few more eggs, and decided to take out the 6 clear eggs. I always feel funny about tossing eggs, so to make myself feel better I decided to candle them again. First egg clear, second egg clear, third egg . . oh my!
I see something moving in it! I still don't see clear veining! I almost tossed out a chick! The other 5 eggs were definately clear. This morning the chick that almost got thrown out hatched and is a beautiful, healthy splash BLRW. I will never consider tossing out eggs until day 10 from now on!!
