Veins:

Its good to hear all of this. I am new to incubating and just candled my eggs (day 7 now!) and was unsure about several of them. My incubator is proving to be very untrustworthy, and I already lost one batch (I thought it was MY fault with batch one, till the new thermometer showed me a temp spike of 108 in batch two) I wrote a nasty letter to the company, and they promised a refund, but just in case, I wanted to hold out to see if anyone survived.
Out of 16, about a third had veins. Only 4 had what I assumed were hearts, and only two seemed to have beating hearts... I left them ALL in anyway... I really hope I get chicks!!!

yap, we all hope we get the chick. this is my first batch.

wew, 110 deg? i forgot how to convert it into celsius cause we prefer us celcius in our country. but i tough that could be almost 50 deg in celcius.

The veins in my duck eggs are turning black. Day 21 or 22 on staggered hatch of 26 eggs. Anyone know why? Kinda thinkin it's bacteria but will some still live?
