OK- The baby is getting his molars, and has taken to chewing on the velcro straps of his shoes. Ick.

So I went to the BD department at work and asked for a 12" strip of velcro I could attach to a toy. APPARENTLY they go trough oodles and oodles of the hook side, and throw away ~100 feet of fuzzy side a month. They offered to give it to me... but what to do with it? It is the Sticky back velcro: 3/4" to 3" wide.

Some of my thoughts:

1- Bumpers for the stroller.
2- Pin-striping for the minivan: doubles as dent/scratch protection.
3- With enough, I could insulate the attic.
4- Bottom of the kid's shoes for the tile: super-scrubbing action!

I need your ideas people!

Stick under appliances and heavy furniture to protect floor and easier ability to move them.
Seal drafts around windows and doors for the winter.
Under base of electronics that are stacked on top of each other.

oohh...those are good ones!

I figured I would give some to the day-care for Christmas crafting. Santa beards, picture frames, and snowy-landscape stuff.

attach to small block of wood for buffing shoes.
or cleaning cds and records (I know...Ipods are replacing these archaic things)
Tack a strip to a long board like a 1 x 2 and staple gun pieces of hook to match to hold utensils or small tools. Mount the board where needed.
Attach to a swiffer handle to dust blinds
use pieces instead of felt on cabinet doors to buffer slaming noise.

Just remember...don't use your sewing machine to attach any of the sticky back velcro to anything...it makes a gummy mess...
