Hello everyone so I have been treating this silkie for a bad case of vent gleet at least that's what I think it is its been over two weeks since I've had the silkie in the house treating with monistat 7, 1-2 soaks a day, avc in water, layer feed is what I have but been meaning to grab a bag of starter and he gets scrambled egg and yogurt as treats. The whole vent is blocked but a small passage where some of the poo is passing. I'm just in need of some different advice to help this silkie. Thank you

There are lots of varying opinions on vent gleet.
A friend had a silkie that had vent gleet for a couple years. Many trips to the vet with multiple treatments did little.
IMHO, it is an imbalance of gut flora. My first course of action would be to get some probiotics into the bird. You could use plain yogurt or kefir.
But the best product I've found is Gro2Max. It is a blend of beneficial bacteria and yeast formulated specifically for chickens.

Good luck. Keep us informed.

I would also try to clean out the vent. Flush it, wipe it and try to keep it open.

You need to pick all of the poo, dirt, other stuff off, then post new pictures.

Edited to add: Probiotics might help, so maybe get the ones ChickenCanoe suggested.

I have some probiotic I forgot to mention that I just started alternating with the avc. I have been keeping her vent clean after her next bath ill take another picture. As far as picking poop off its extremely hard even with all of the baths I have only been able to trim some of it off. The smell has gotten better and so has the look of poo and whatever is coming out.

I know it's hard to get off, but all of it needs to come off. As you take it off, pay careful attention to the color of the debris. Poop and scabs will be dark, but infection will be yellow.
