Is this vent gleet? How do you treat this? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't see any discharge from the vent, just looks like she's getting feather picked. Vent gleet is usually a nasty, smelly discharge from the vent. Picking happens sometimes on the roosts at night. More likely if they are overcrowded. Sometimes redoing your roosting layout by adding roosts or changing spacing will help.

Thank you for your help. We only have 3 chickens. We thought we gave enough room for all to roost. But will see if we add more ,see if that helps. I don't see the other 2 chickens pecking at her during the day. Maybe it's just at night. Thank you

Some birds just want more space than others. When I have bare butts like this it's almost always happening on the roosts. Even one dominant bird can be the issue. Spend some time observing, to see if you can figure it out. If you give treats, you may want to reduce that also. Sometimes not getting enough protein can contribute to feather picking, but it is more often crowding or boredom.

I do have one chicken that is more aggressive than the others. It could definitely be her. I might try adding more roosting. Thanks again.

Should I continue to spray her with vetericyn plus?
Or should I be doing something else?

If it looks irritated, then you can use the veterycin, it won't hurt anything. Trying to stop the picking will be the best remedy, may take some time. The feathers may not fill in again until she molts.

My white hens have the same problem I have three white chickens and three black ones.Their run has two parts 10ft x 4ft and 10ft x 10ft. Their coop measures 6ft by 8ft. There are two roosts but the six birds all huddle together on one. They are let out at 8am and stay out until they are ready to go in by themselves. I'm new to chicken keeping and an not sure what to do.

This is a 2 year old thread. First thing you need to do is to cover the skin with Blu-Kote, so it doesn't attract more attacking. What do you feed them? Low protein feed could cause feather picking. Do you see any mites or lice on them? These could cause feather loss too.
