We have had a girl who has runny poop for a few months, honestly probably 4 months or so.
Just looked like she was getting sick around January, stuck to the corner and was puffed up, thought for sure she wouldn’t make it, but she pulled through.
In January we cleaned her up, added probiotics, oregano oil, scrambled eggs, ACV water, etc. She got better but still has awful smelling runny poo. Back to having a nasty bum, and keeps her tail down. Other than that she seems to be doing fine, she’s eating/drinking, scratching/peeking and dust bathing all with the others just fine.

Cleaned her up again yesterday with dish soap water, salt water, and some vinegar water. Trimmed up the feathers around her bum also yesterday.

Do you think she has vent fleet by the pictures above or something else?

Welcome To BYC

Does she lay eggs?

I see a distended abdomen. What does that feel like, tight like a drum with fluid or soft and pliable?
Sometimes when the abdomen is full looking like that, a hen may be suffering from a reproductive disorder like Cancer, EYP, etc.

When was she last dewormed?

If she normally lays eggs and hasn't, then I'd start her on extra calcium for a few days. You can find Calcium Citrate with D3 at Walmart, CVS, etc. Just pop 1 tablet daily into her beak for 3-5 days.

Vent Gleet is usually a white thick yeasty smelling continuous discharge from the vent. Is that what you are seeing?

Thanks for the welcome. She hasn’t been laying, but normally does. She’s under three years old.

We haven’t dewormed her, none of the other girls have shown any of the same symptoms. I will try the calcium, thanks for your advice.
