So i just got these girlies and Im new to keeping chickens and they are said to be about 15 months old. Ive spent more time looking and researching chicken butts that my husband now thinks i am more crazy then he thought! Anyways I decided to start looking at my girls vents to see if they look healthy and make sure their vents arent the reason they havent laid yet...so im attaching a picture for your viewing pleasure;take a look and let me know what your thoughts are! Happy day everyone!

Do you mean weeks old? Chickens can start laying eggs up to 16-18 weeks old.

However, during 15-18 months, chickens begin their new feather growth. This makes the chicken lose feathers so that new ones come in, and it also stops egg laying. How long have you had them? Have they laid in the past? The vent looks healthy to me, and there is no pasty butt.

The guy said they are 15 months old. They came from a laying house would be my guess.

I have had them for about 8 days now. The guy I got them from said they were around 15 months old. He bought a truckload of them so I am guessing they came from a commercial laying house? He said they were laying before hand.

Your chicken is either going through molting, illness, having a cold, stress, or non healthy food. Or a parasite infection.
My thoughts as well. Stress from moving, possibly molting, etc. haha. Probably a combination of everything. I do have oyster shell and grit out for them, i have 16% layer pellets, and I got some vitamin/probiotic stuff to put in their water daily. Should I start a course t Ivermectin OR safeguard?

Yes, Ivermectin will hopefully help! Make sure that if she does lay eggs you don't eat them for about 8-10 days because the medicine can be found inside them. For safety I would recommend 10 days.

I am not well educated on this stuff yet, and I am praying for your chicken to lay some eggs! Are there other chickens with it? Sound silly, but it may need a friend.
  1. Garlic powder. This is a homemade vitamin, which provides great benefits to the health of chickens.
  2. Pure garlic granules.
  3. Eggshell improver.
  4. Poultry spice or poultry seasoning.
  5. Poultry tonic.
  6. Apple vinegar.
  7. Egg booster.
Try some of these things. Hopefully, something helps! Heres my friend that can probably help you. @Kiki
