vent pecking

Assuming your feed is minimal protein (16%) you might want to try bumping it up to 18-20% - you can mix in feed with higher protein, swap out your current feed for higher protein feed, etc.

Clutter will also help so I hope you can get some in place. A straw bale or a pile of dried leaves will also help give them something to busy themselves with.

Hmm, is there any regional farm stores in Canada that do online orders? I agree a 3 pack of Pick-no-more is overkill.
i just remembered to check the feed to see what percentage the protein is and it’s 17%- i have some grower thats 20% that i can add into it? if that will work.

i’ll definitely see if i can clutter it more- we have a lot of snow right now so it’s hard to do much. right now they have a huge old stump and a long walkway up high on the side of their run which they absolutely love- my birds also love milk crates for some reason so they have one of those too. i’ll try to think of some more things i can add!

i’ll have to have a look for a canadian farm store. gertrude was put back outside this morning and had a nice reunion with the girls, i’ll check on her throughout the day just to make sure nothing happens. i HAD to move her back outside because my cat was getting too jealous  she found her way up onto one of the highest shelves and absolutely destroyed my poor little apple tree sprout that i was growing, and then this morning when i was giving gertrude some attention- she went and peed on the floor, which she only does when she’s mad at me. she is crazy
