Do I remove vent plugs? My directions are not clear as to when I'm suppose to remove them. It just simply says to remove them. also my humidity has stayed between 45-50. Is that a acceptable level. My incubator only has a temp. Control no way to control humidity level.

Depends on the incubator. For a LG, I leave both in for the first few days then take one out till the end of the second week when I remove both. They need more oxygen the more they grow.

yes thats what i did as well. leave them in for the first week and take them out after that. there are better ways to control humidity than using the vent plugs to hold humidity. i left mine in the first week only since i read that chicks develop stronger if this process was implemented. something about the higher level of CO2 slightly stressing the chick so that it grows stronger to overcome it. if you are worried about humidity add a sponge or dish of water in there. personally i dont deal with humidity until lockdown.

as for the level of humidity ive always kept mine low like around 30-35%.. i did dry hatch. Humidity wasnt really an issue for me for the most part, as long as i monitored the air cell size. the air cell just has to be at the right size at the right time ie, it has to be growing at an acceptable level gradually throughout the incubation process.
