Just read BBB's post on vent sexing and going to give it a shot on gypsy, find out if my baby girl is in fact a baby girl!

HA, Aubrey you made it sound so easy, I couldnt even find the vent in all the down, i could feel the vent but finding it was a different story, still have no idea!

I vent sexed my ducklings the day we got them- If I did it right than we have a higher ratio of males- I am waiting to see if I did it right (pretty sure I did). Hopefully now that their feathers are coming in I can start to figure it out with the feathers.

haha i have a problem there black bellies are one of the few breeds that have the same feathering in the males and females!

when I had my wood duck last summer I thought for sure she was a girl til I posted my pics/story and the ppl here knew from neck markings it was a boy... !!!! Just hadnt turned the male colors yet.... he was called HE for a few weeks,,, then she for a few weeks back to HE LOL ..... miss him..
