So I don't think over all it'll be a huge issue but I know we get some hot days where we can be up in the high 90s to 100 and high humidity. So I wanted to get thoughts or advice before we get any issues.

I'm thinking on putting in at least a exhaust fan for one of the windows on the inside...

long term project I may do a exhaust fan to the front top and intake on the windows, but that's down the road as I don't have the time to rig and cut anything at the moment.

The backside stays in shade all day long no matter what time of day it is. I'll be getting shade cloth for the run (I swore I had bought it.. but I can't find it in my shed).

Several years ago we installed a digital one in ours. We bought it on Amazon and got the one that would fit in our smallest of two windows in the coop. It took hubby under an hour to install it and wire it in. He's an electrician so I suppose he's a little faster at the wiring part. :)

It keeps the coop cooler in the summer, less humid too, and is the ventilation in the winter.

Not sure you want to spend this much but we have no other ventilation in our coop and had to do something fast.

I reviewed it on BYC: https://www.backyardchickens.com/reviews/ac-infinity-digital-exhaust-fan.12120/

I am in process of building a new coop, and my plan is for two exhaust fans. One coming in, the other pulling air out.

The coop will have 5 windows, and 6 vents, for a total of ~20-22 square feet of passive ventilation. (The coop will have room for 22 hens, based on the 4sqft rule, tho for my needs, I really don't see more than 15 max over the years, even accounting for chicken math.) The coop will be under the run roof, so it will be totally in the shade. I am in south Louisiana, where it is hot and humid in the summer.

The east side fan will be at the edge of the run roof cover, and the west side fan will be totally under the run. I am trying to decide if I want east inlet, and west exaust out, or vice versa.

I am thinking that I want east in, and west exhaust out, because the east side will be naturally cleaner and fresher, not sucking in run air.

Thoughts on fan placement?
