NOTE: Fan is blowing into the coop, so it doesn't get clogged with coop dust and cause a fire hazard.
Shade is at a deficit here, especially in the PM.
I put a box fan in the east window, which is shaded most the day, to blow some cooler air into the coop in the evenings.
It helps, kinda.
Not too efficient just hanging in the window.
So I built a mount for it, which also blocks some morning sun.
Cut some OSB(what I had on hand) to fit window frame and fan outline.
Put some 2x2's on the back for stand-offs.
Put some brackets on fan to attach to OSB.
Nailed up a cleat on coop studs.
Mount is too heavy to hold up and screw in place by myself.
Used 3" lag bolts to attach to wall.
Screwed fan in place. Viola!
I take this down in winter when I shut up the windows.
This year am going to try to angle the fan so it hits the birds better, by adjusting fan or mount.
