Ventilation cover?

I have my coop all built and ready for the chickies, but one question. What do I put over the vent holes at the top of the coop, gap between roof and top of wall? I tried some wire but was having a hard time securing it to the coop. I can secure it to the rafters? but not to the top of the coop wall. I just don't want any critters sneaking in the coop.

Try hardware cloth and use lath screws to secure it to the wood

I have 1/2" hardware cloth over all my coop openings. We used screws with washers to attach it.

Don't know if you were trying to secure the wire to the inside or the outside... Check both, maybe one option will have more surface to screw the wire onto than the other???? Is your roof metal? Is that the issue???

Maybe you could take a picture of your setup, and that way we could understand your problem better.
