Ventilation in KY

We’re nearly finished with our coop and was wondering if this was too much ventilation for winter. We have lows around 30 on a consistent basis and can drop to single digits on a rare occasion. The low end of the roof is 6” and the high end is
1 1/2’. The gaps will be filled with 1/2” hardware cloth.

Probably not, as long as your roosts aren't in the path of winds, but you can use furnace filters, burlap, or other porous materials to help blunt some wind in colder temperatures.

As long as its draft free, its almost impossible to have too much ventilation in that climate.

Not too much especially for the summer. You can block off the north side in the winter to keep the cold cold wind out. You can block off more if needed but still leave a few inches at the top. Our temperatures fluctuate wildly.
Watch your southwest sides to make sure no sideways rain is getting in when the monsoon rains come.

My brooder heat plate and tiny ( I didn't read the description very well) feeders and water arrived yesterday. I am so excited but want to take my time not only with the brooding process but the coop process.
