Thank you so much, like I said before the kennel is a big kennel, I have the top all covered and as for ventilation I will indeed cover just both sides and leave the back open the kennel is 10x30 the front is the door then two sides then the back, I have chicken wire around all three sides plus the door, they indeed have lots of room. I go in there everyday and give the hay a nice toss they like that, during our hot weather we had several weeks ago I would to to the back of the kennel and spray a little water on the hay, they like that. So when our chili weather comes I will cover both sides with a big tarp, I will leave the front open and the back, so they have proper ventilation. As for their water, I go in the kennel everyday to collect eggs and toss their hay, I will forsure check their water as I am in their. They are pretty happy Chickens they have lots of room to run and play. I don't let them out of their coop at all, I had chickens a couple years ago and I would let them out everyday, but everyday there would be a chicken missing. my big back yard is all fenced in of course, but that does not stop critters from digging under the fence to come in and enjoy a chicken everyday, so I keep them cooped up all the time.
Thank you so much for your replies it really helps me.

No No I am sorry I did not explain very good I guess. it is a 10FT by 30ft Kennel my late husband was a hunter and he built it himself, that is where he kept his hunting dogs, it is all fenced in. The top is all covered and a cement floor. All I had to do is put chicken wire all around it for protection from critters. Like I said it is all fenced in all sides and the door, it makes a perfect chicken coop, they have lots of room. I covered the floor with one bail of hay, made 4 nesting boxes and they are happy as can be. They have a big feeder in the kennel and a big water bucket. I go in there everyday and collect eggs which I am getting 7 eggs everyday. They are brown eggs and still a little on the small size but they are getting bigger. I love my chickens and I attend to them daily.
I hope that explains that to everyone. Sorry about the confusion. Have a wonderful day.
