Good day wonderful chicken peeps,
I am confused as to the sexes of my Rhode Island Reds. I believe I may have two roos on my hands. The one on the left is Ventress. We are hoping she is a she but at 6 months she is not laying (I understand she may not start laying for many months yet) and her comb and wattle are very red and quite large compared to her sibling. General Grievous (GG for short) I think is a roo. He has a long tail feather, he is very skittish and when I try to pet him he almost growls or grunts, whereas Ventress clucks when I pet her. Still I'm hoping for some seasoned advice as Thanksgiving dinner is "rooster a la king" I'm told. I just want to be as sure as possible before breaking the news that GG will be supper to my 5 yr old son. Thanks!
