I've been keeping an eye on my BO's and am really thinking that this one is a roo. All of my BO's are a couple days past 4 months old.

Any thoughts?

The rest of my BO's basically look like the pic below. Although of the other 5, this particular one has a redder comb than the rest.

She's a pullet that is maturing faster than the rest of your flock. She will be the first to lay.

Which one? The one on the top is the one I think is a roo ...

The one on the bottom looks like the other BO's I have that I'm convinced are all pullet's .. her comb is just darker ...

Looks like a hen to me in the first photo. Look at how the tail is down and the feathers are all smooth in front of it. Here is a pic of a mature rooster.. See the long thin pointy feathers in front of tail? That is a good indicator early on as well as the roosters tail will grow up and curl while hen will have hers down.. Hope I explained that ok....

Hmm .. I was hoping that since they were still young (only 4 months) that the tail just hadn't started "filling out" yet. Curse my luck! LOL

I got 19 chicks ... and out of the 19 ... only one roo? (he's a New Hampshire) What are the odds!!! LOL

I really wanted a BO roo :(
