Vertical chicken run

This is just a thought but I'm wondering if it's possible. Could you technically build a small run that's high enough that it could be 2 stories. Basically a single coop that would lead to a run with a ladder or something up to another level right above? Almost like how a cat kennel is setup. I see some of the problems it could cause but I just wanted to know if anyone has done it.

That actually sounds really cool. I'm not sure how the chickens would react to it, but it sounds like fun. Hopefully someone more experienced can give some advice, I really don't have any.

It's good to have some higher perches and stuff, so vertical height is good for that and the keeper being able walk into a run, but chickens are mostly ground birds and height won't make up for not enough 'floor' space....and that height needs to have landing space to fly down from without crashing into something.

I agree with aart... would be nice for a parrot or something like that, but chickens spend most of their day on the ground and like digging and scratching versus perching.
