vertical space/tools to start building

I saw someone post on using the vertical space in the coop..and thought that was a great idea.Anybody have pix of using their vertical space to help me with ideas?I have a nice size coop but it could be way larger if I made use of the other space.It is about 18ft.by 13 ft.and at least 8ft.hi Aand I was planning on asking for tool for xmas since I really think I could do some work myself at least try to.Any suggestions and what type of saw and maybe a drill or electric screw driver or nailer or are these all in one.Can you tell I never built anything before.Maybe a post hole digger so I can put up my own fences.I seem to have good ideas and would like to give it a try.Like maybe start with nest boxes.Sorry this is actually 2 topics in one.

You can Do IT!!! I'm not going to reccomend any particular brands, if you can sign up at a Home Depot or such for one of their simple project classes, no matter how simple where you can get the hang of using a saw and electric drill etc, do it. Better that way than with even a relative if you will feel too self concious. Easier to fumble a bit with strangers sometimes. Don't buy the cheapest, but you rarely need the most expensive either!

Other than that, get a cordless drill, (with an extra battery so one can be recharging while you're running the other down) and either a jigsaw, or a circular saw, (though circular saws are more intimidating ... but you CAN DO IT) Make sure the drill and especially the saw isn't too heavy for you, if you don't feel comfortable with whoever is helping you at the store when you are looking at power tools, leave and either go to another store, or look for another sales clerk. In fact, go to a couple stores, and have someone show you some things.. if they head right for the top of the line, say thanks and leave. >.< decent quality doesn't mean $$$$. Once you know what feels good you will know which brand to ask for!

Safety glasses! Honestly they're a pain but try to get used to them!!

You can rent an auger and get a friend to help for digging post holes! Hand post hole diggers are implements of hades. Good gloves to wear while working with the wire fencing, not to wear while using the saws etc... I'm sure others will jump in soon with more ideas, but Women's balance, center of gravity, and strength differences matter when choosing tools etc, so keep that in mind.

My coop is 15 feet long and 5.5 feet wide. The last 4 feet I split in half vertically, with a bachelor pad on top and brooder or extra coop space on the bottom. The bachelor pad I use a window as his coop door with a ramp.

If you have no tools I'd get a handsaw and an electric drill/screwdriver.
