We have an extremely broody Cochin who will not give up being broody. She has been so for about a month, and sits on invisible eggs. We take them away from her every day, have tried nudging her many times a day off her nest to go out and be with the rest of the flock, have kept her out of the nesting boxes, have tried putting ice packs in the boxes and still she is not giving up! She is always back in that nest when she gets her chance and I've noticed she is starting to look thinner. She eats when we nudge her off her nest, but it worrys me I don't want her to get sick or too hungry where she gets too thin. She's very irritable when out of her nest and picks on the other hens pulling their feathers out. What can I do! I'm tempted to put her in a broody jail for a week but I just don't have the heart to do so yet. Any advice please would be appreciated!

We just don't have space in our coop to give her chicks to raise
