VERY disappointed!!!

There are only a few states that have minimum purchase numbers of chicks. Every reasoning I have heard given was to prevent people from purchasing a bird for their kids for Easter, then discovering their reality and dumping the bird.

Seems like a stupid law to me--there are better ways to address dumping of animals, it is easy to get around (pair up with several others who only want one or two chicks), and it seems more likely that requiring 6 chick purchases would increase the number of dumped birds.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no minimum number of animals you must actually keep in any state.

Criminalizing chickens---that's a new approach--have challenges made it through the courts yet?
