So i bought eggs from a guy i know, they are backyard chicken eggs, not purebred, i'm sorry i'm not sure what you call them but they are the cheapest of all chicken, the chick here goes for 2$-3$, anyways i put them in the incubator last week on a sunday meaning that today they are 9 days into incubation, and my incubator is right next to my bed. So i woke up this morning to the sound of a chick chirping, and found an egg almost completely hatched, and moments later a chick is born, so my question is wtf?? It's day 9 of incubation!!!

i've had power go out before for 12 hours 14 days into incubation i thought the samething they have got to be dead but i kept incubating just to see what would happen and sure enough 30% of them still hatched. i was quite surprised.

Yes of course some will still hatch you should never give up on chicken eggs, but i don't have my brooder ready yet so i have to work on that, this was quite a surprise. lol.

That's what i thought, but when i got the eggs i let them rest for nine and a half hours before putting them in the incubator, and the chick still survived?
I seen somewhere on here where someone brought in a duck egg that had been left by the broody and it was in the 40's I think. Was left out for a day and the person was still able to hatch it.

Another one hatched today, it's still only day ten, this is so wierd.

That is so cool.
The eggs must have been sat on before.

I wish you the best in rasing them.
Remeber to feed and give water to those who have hatched and keep incubating the eggs who havent yet!!

I wish i had an incubator now.
My hen hatched 5 chicks and got off hr other eggs and we thought they were dead. Because she got off them.
