very first chick hatched...but his cord is still attached....

Help, he is trying to unattach himself....is this normal? I can't find info on this..Please respond.

Leave him be....it will be ok. It is PROBABLY part of the egg yolk sack. It will either drie up and fall off...or it will be absorbed. Either way...leave it be...trying to pull it off may hurt the baby causeing it to bleed.
