I got my first 3 pullets last July, they were 7 weeks old when i got them, and i got my first egg from them on Thanksgiving day, so you probably have a long way to go till they give you their first egg.

I'm in the same situation! Mine are 6 weeks and I'm so excited and impatient! It will be my first eggs ever!

Sorry to say--IT will feel like forever! BUT try to enjoy each stage and get to know your girls. Learn their personalities, handle them as much as possible and it will help you when they are adults.. You will be able to tell what is 'normal' for each one.. I purchased POL pullets for my first flock and they had not been handled, they were a little stand-offish--when a few became sick--I really didn't get the 'message' until it was too late.. AND I still had to wait until they were 28-37weeks old before I got my first eggs..

SO--take a deep breath, find a comfy chair, read your Chicken for Dummies book and all the others you can find and ENJOY EVERY minute...

My BO were 21-24 weeks when they started laying. Now I am waiting for my first ever broody. I have 3 five month old silkies who are not laying yet, let alone becoming broody. I have a black silkie mix who looks like a silkie but with normal feathers the same age who has been laying a month. Maybe she'll go broody. Anyway, it's always something they are making me wait for lol.

Yep, I feel your pain. My girls just turned two months so I have until July until I might see my first ever eggs. Luckily the girls are already getting pretty friendly so by the time they are laying we should be best friends.
