Very large egg

So we have about 36 ladies between 5-6 months old. A mix of BR, RIR, EE, and RSL. Egg production steadily climbs about another one per day. We're finding "new" eggs with paper thin shells daily too, so we know everybody is starting to get there. But yesterday, this happened!

Over 3" long.

For reference I wear a size XXL glove.

I expect thin shell eggs or small eggs from new producers, but none of you told me to expect this! No we do not have ducks and I did not see an emu strolling around the property yesterday. I kinda wish I had an incubator....

I had one lay like that - they were almost always double yolkers

We've had a couple double yolks already but they were from"normal" size eggs. I guess this could be from the same girl.

Open it up and see what's inside....could be an entire shelled egg inside there.

We were expecting an egg in an egg but turned out to be 3 yolks. My wife cracked it a little harder than she should, so one of the yolks busted.

Apparently Zeke thinks it is delicious.

It's quite interesting all the different looking eggs you get. Large ones, ittybitty ones, really long but kinda skinny ones.

I had a weird one a month or so ago that had a wrinkle in the shell.
