Very new to geese molting?

We have spring birds here and feathers are everywhere in drifts around the yard. I've seen a lot of very happy sparrows flying off with the feathers for their nests. Need to go rake them up again before the neighbors start thinking we are butchering birds.

My Muscovy was all black. She shed her flight wings a while ago - I was shocked too, they just drooped and when you touched her they would just fall out. Well now they're coming in white. Do they change color like that?
