Thank you all for the warm welcome. There is a ton of information on this site, not to mention the experience of the members. Thank you! I've been looking into the various breeds, their temperaments, and the hatcheries that have the best reputation. I've searched my local craigslist for locals who sell eggs also. I've decided on 3-4 laying hens (not positive on the breeds yet) and some meat birds as well. I'll be so excited when I receive our first chicks!
