I think they are the perfect mix, they are beautiful like Africans, and friendly and have great personality like toulouse. I love them, I got lucky and hatched a male and female out, 3 out of 10 eggs hatched one looked embden (mostly yellow with blue eyes) the other two looked the same, my cat got the embden and I was left with Duckie and Darcie. They are my babies, sold my flock of chickens so they could have run of the entire coop(now I have room for 2 or 3 more, so I'm hoping she will eventually hatch a few)

So far, they are still in the nest, Dewie is sitting with Darcie and Duckie is outside making a fuss.

How do ducks and geese get on as adults? Does it depend on sex of the duck?

Just a quick update, just went back to check on them since 7am, Darcie has finally brought the baby outside!! Dewie was following his mama all around, I went to get my camera and by the time I got back to the pen, they were inside, Darcie was back on her nest and Dewie was following his daddy around the inside of the coop. Looks like things are going to work out like I ,we, had hoped!

On a side note, I went to feed them and the gander came after me, he made a half hearted attempt to grab my pants, I told him a loud DUCKIE NO!! and he turned around and went to the corner with the baby.

The baby is dirty, looks like they had been out playing in the mud for a good bit, his chest is dark brown, and his beak, up to his eyes, is all muddy.

I think it is very funny that your gander is named duckie and now he has a "duckie son" - really, really funny. So happy for you!
You must keep us posted and supply more pics...you first set makes me smile - everytime I visit.
