Very sad news :( RIP Hudini

Sad to say that a few days ago a hawk got one of my favorite chickens. I felt so bad I found myself crying and crying... it was terrible. She was a white crested polish and the most amazing chicken ever! She didn't get along too well with the rest of the flock which was probably why she wandered away, but was best friends with the roo! Hudini was only about 6months old. She loved people and would follow you everywhere not even looking for snacks. Hudini will be very missed by me and the rest of my family. Hopefully she is in a better place. <#

very sorry. We lost our favorite Bantam rooster to an owl a month ago.

That's too sad. Neighbors dogs killed 2 polish pullets a couple weeks ago along with 6 other pullets and my favorite WhiteJG roo.
A hawk got a buttercup cockerel this week.
I like polish but I think they are so vulnerable to predation.

One nice thought: She is now in the great big heavenly nest, no shortage of treats or fresh straw! She will be happy and free ranging forever.
