Hi all! I have a 3 year old buff Orpington that’s sick.
I noticed she had some poop on her feathers so gave her a butt bath and cleaned her up. But it’s happened again and when I went to check on her today she was ill looking (puffed up, in the coop but did come down to see me but lay down immediately).
No signs of mites or lice. No discharge from her nostrils or any signs of respiratory illness. Her belly does feel squishy.
the poop on her feathers is definitely not formed but it’s not liquid either. Like thick mush and there seems to be a lot of the urate on it. She smells pretty ammonia-y but I think that’s from her vent/poop?
All of the other chickens (3 others) are fine. We did introduce 2 new chickens about a month ago.
I’ve brought her into a headed garage with food and water.
Any suggestions?? I’m in Ontario.
