Hello, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

A family member of mine recently got ducks in August and, although I told them to reorder vitamins once the vitamins never shipped and that if they didn't it would come back to bite them, they neglected to. One of our ducks - a female Pekin - is now very sick. She doesn't eat as much or drink much unless someone's out there to encourage her or the other ducks are, she can't walk for the most part (mainly just wobbles and falls around), backs herself into corners to prop herself up, isn't as loud or active as she used to be, can't even get out of the pool on her own (she now has no access to it as of the past few days, and we have her separated from the chickens and all other ducks but one - is this a bad idea?), etc.

What can we do? We're planning to take her to a vet as soon as we can - hopefully within the next few days - but does anyone know what this is? Vitamin deficiency? Is there anything we can do to help her?

As for vet care, I am located in Chandler, Arizona - does anyone know of a good vet here that can deal with ducks? I will also be asking on the state thread.

I'm not sure, I'm not the primary caretaker of the ducks. I believe it's DuMOR chick starter/grower 20% currently, and fed twice a day.

Grower is too high in protein for Pekin...Turkey finisher and water soluble vitamins and minerals is best for Older Adult Ducks if you can't feed Duck feed....
Also free choice feed with daily greens to balance them out.Romain and cucumber is a good choice daily..

Questions.
  1. How old?
  2. Is she laying?
  3. If laying, have all eggs been normal?
  4. What does her poop look like?
  5. Has she lost weight?
Can you bring her inside where it's warm? Almost all sick birds will be a little hypothermic (too cold), so it would be best to place her in a warm, quiet room.

To find a vet near you, google avian vet and the largest city near you.

Okay, thank you! Will switch and provide cucumbers asap. What kind of vitamins and minerals? Just anything specific for waterfowl?
