I am soo sorry about your hen Sugar, and i know exactly how you must be feeling as my 'Plucky' passed last saturday, and she too was a mere pound if that?
The mites along with the worms just got all of her food?? Being treated with chemo myself i didn't even think of bathing her and combing the nasty red mites off of her until it was too late. ~Pluckster~ that was her name toward the end cause she was a tuff chicken who really fought to live, will be greatly missed by me, as she got me thru cancer, and taught me to be a stronger female just being around her. I loved my girl and i am greiving, as she was my buddy. Again very sorry for your loss of Sugar, as her and Plucky are in the biggest clover field, free ranging and playing together now R.I.P. and no longer suffering, and i can say the thought of that gives me releif and strength to fight the good fight with the little c~Ancer that the big C~hrist Jesus and my Plucky helped me beat, as i am cancer free, with 1 treatment left to go.
