Very sick hen! Please help!

Symptoms are bad rattle with every breath, pale comb/wattles, no strength to stand.
I'm giving Duramycin 10 because that's all I have. Is there a better tx for this?
Also, how do I get her to eat?

If she has a respiratory infection then the antibiotic of choice is Tylan 50.

Thanks CMV for your reply. I believe she's too far gone and will have to be culled this morning. But I'm going to get the Tylan 50 to have on hand.

Respiratory infections are highly contagious, so you are going to need that Tylan.

Should I treat the rest of the flock as a preventive measure? Is this something you put in the water?

I don't treat prophylactically, but some choose to. You will have to make that call. I don't believe Tylan is used, though. It is one of the other antibiotics. You can probably do a search through the archives to find it.
