Honestly thank you for being there for us… I did everything I could but these battery hens arrive so poorly & weak - she had a good free range life for 2yrs…
I have 3 Silkies (from chicks) that are 7yrs old & are so healthy… I’m not sure I can cope with anymore ex-battery hens, it’s heartbreaking

Of course, thank you so much for giving her a happy life. Unfortunately battery hens are prone to so many health issues, they'll never live to the same age as other chickens

Very sorry for your loss. When they suffer from ascites, it is frequently from egg yolk peritonitis, and is always eventually fatal. I have lost a few to this issue. You should feel good that you gave her a good life after her battery days.
