A week ago I brought home 4 pullets from someone I know. After I purchased them she told me that she has had some issues with cocci.. The pullets had been treated but could have probably used another treatment. On Tuesday I started treating all if my birds with corid . My 6 pullets seemed to be doing pretty well, and at 9-12 weeks old all of them had begun roosting. Everybody has been out in the run scratching and having a good old time.. Lastnight I was in a hurry because I was going away to stay with a friend. I did my usual head count before locking up and realized one was missing, I found get hiding in our plants. She bony and felt very light. I put her in the coop and asked someone to keep an eye on her. Not sure if she foraged today or if she just left the coop and plopped down in the plants again but she was in the same spot this evening. She is skin and bones but she was acting totally normal the day before yesterday. I brought her inside and moved her to the bottom of a ferret nation cage. She pecked at the shavings a little. I gave her some mash with raw ACV and she was eating some. Prior to giving her anything to eat her crop was about half the size of a golf ball and a bit on the firm side but still very pliable. Any ideas? Anything else that might help her?

I would give her a little plain yogurt. Sometimes the flock will keep a sick chicken away from the food. You might want to house her separately for a few days and build her up with plenty of regular feed plus nutritious extras like a scrambled eggg, a bit of tuna, some vitamins, etc. Cocci is rough on their intestinal tract.

Maybe put a little vitamins & electrolytes in her water, too for a few days. (Note : I wouldn't put any powdered vits & elects in her food because many taste nasty & then the bird doesn't eat as much).

Would electrolytes have to be the chicken kind? And what about the vitamins? Tractor supply is on the other side of the city.. Wasn't sure if something like pedilyte could be used.

She still seems run down but she has been eating.

Was her crop that size before eating or drinking anything " first thing in the morning"? The crop should be completely empty in the morning before she eats or drink.

No.. Her crop was that size in the evening

Her crop is probably fine, check her in the morning just to rule that out. How does her poop look? Is it normal looking?

It looks normal color but is watery.. Not straight up diarrhea though. She didn't eat any of the scrambled eggs I gave her. She seems to be getting weaker too. It didn't look like she had eaten much, if any at all. I tried to hand feed her and she took a couple peaks then started moving her neck around very oddly

My hen had an impact crop and then it went sour as I was trying to figure out was was wrong with her. My hen did the weird neck thing. This is when I noticed something wrong. I did a video of her, it was suggested she was adjusting her crop. To be sure it's not her crop, check her in the morning to see its flat. Try to get lots of fluid in her. Here is my video. http://s863.photobucket.com/user/epwand/media/New Hens/DSCN2765_zpsb34d4973.mp4.html

Try to give her boiled egg yolk. Mine liked that and it's very nutritious.
