I incubated eggs from a friend and hatched about 14 chicks last weekend. The chicks are 10 days old now and seem to be doing great. There’s one chick that just started acting extra sleepy the last day or so. This chick was the last to hatch and a little bit shrink-wrapped and I had to help her out after everyone else was removed from the incubator. She was perfectly fine, no blood, no guts coming out, she eats and drinks fine but is always so calm. Since born she has barely chirped or startled. She lets my kids pick her up without squirming. She starts to fall asleep standing up a lot, which some chicks do. But she also will just lay down in your hand and fall asleep and likes to be pet. She’s not small by any means, in fact, a little bigger than the rest of the chicks. I can’t help but think she’s sick but maybe it’s just temperament? Any thoughts?

Is she getting enough electrolytes and vitamins?
I’m now thinking it’s wry neck. Her neck is not twisted but it seems she cannot hold her head up. She is eating and drinking but seems like the trachea is protruding and the back of the neck is indented? She’s always been so quiet but is now extremely lethargic and sitting a lot with eyes closed.

I have the save a chick electrolytes and have been mixing that with their water. I haven’t used vitamins. What would you recommend?
I just went through this with the smallest chicken in my new flock. I thought she looked stressed out the others were walking all over her. I separated her and fed her B complex through a dropper. Also wet her starter feed and fed her that as well. Within 2 days she was up and doing well. I wasn't quit sure of putting her back in the broader so I put one of the smaller chick's in with her. They did well together so 2nd day I put them both back with the rest. She's doing just fine now.

Ok I will separate her because it seems the other chicks are walking on her and bumping into her too. I’ll have to find some B complex. I did raw egg white in a syringe but she didn’t seem to take much. She’s walking around and drinking but is hunched over walking low to the ground and just sleeping a lot.

Update: we lost her last night :( Rest in Peace Snowball.

Photo attached was her yesterday sleeping in my hand.
