My three month old pet rooster Gilly has been sick for the past three days and the second day I brought him inside because he was very cold. Gilly is very wobbly and his waddles are a lighter red color than they usually are. He has been pooping large amounts of poop about every 35-45 minutes and sometimes he will start eating it. Also he doesn't walk around much and sleeps a lot. He does eat and drink which is good. So I don't understand why he is so weak. Just now he pooped out a big pile of poop and it had a few bloody spots in it.

I would treat him and your other chickens for coccidiosis right away. Corid (amprollium) liquid 2 tsp in a gallon of water for 5 days. No vitamins or ACV in the water during treatment.

So should I keep him inside or return him to his coop?
If it were me, I would take him in and keep warm. He is sick and needs to be treated like a patient until well. Warmth, rest, liquids, food and quiet.

If you have other chickens, they should all be treated since the poo contains the oocysts that will infect everyone else. They have probably already been exposed. A little extra warmth might help him.

Gilly passed away on the 23rd at the age of 3 months and 8 days :,( I miss him a lot.

Sorry for your loss. Did any of the other chicks get cocci?
