I have lots of little jap pics and vids http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v244/aqh88/chickens/brooder/ . Hatch 2 links are also japs from a different source and there are some pics of them closer to adult. Everything in my chicken section of photobucket are japanese bantams except the 3 EE and the latest 3rd hatch that are in the brooder. They really aren't any different than standards aside from the space they take. You might want to put marbles in the waterer for the first few days until they are steady enough on their feet not to drown. You can moisten the starter or grind it up for the first week. Just replace it frequently if you moisten it. My first hatch I only had 2 and just let them pick out the smaller pieces while the big pieces got cleaned out with the paper towels. After the first week they had no problems.
They don't need grit until you start feeding treats. Then you can use sand instead of feed store grit. My nearly grown ones still can't use standard size grit. The smallest grit I can find is #2 grower and it's about right for the adults. I doubt the chick grit size of the same brand would work for any japs under 8-10weeks. Sand is also cheaper from any hardware store or I scooped some out of my horse arena.

How 'bout I smack you upside the head and you can measure the red mark?
OMG!!!! They're sooooo tiny compared to the standard size chicks and ducklings I'm use to. My broooder's goign to be like a football field to them. I'm definitely going to have to put in a divider to make it small to start with.
Thank you, everyone who sent pics. My husband's jaw dropped open when I showed him.
