very swollen crop & she threw up when I picked her up!

Hi, my aurecana has a very swollen crop and when I picked her up tonight she threw up liquid! I've never seen a chicken do that. Do you think this is something serious and if so, what could be the issue?

It could be nothing, really, maybe she drank a little too much and being picked up upset her. See if the crop is empty in the morning, before she starts feeding. If it doesn't empty overnight, maybe you should check out sour crop on here, or impacted crop. You could start on the FAQ page, if you haven't already. I don't have any experience with this.

Thanks Judy. I'm off to research sour crop at this moment though she seems to be doing fine this morning.

Judy is right. Had one do that to me recently, thought she had sour crop and she had just gorged on water on a very hot day. Was fine the next day.
