Threads are often moved into a more appropriate section by the mods if they are not posted in the correct area. I have noted that it will appear with the word "moved " in black in front of the thread tittle for a time before it no longer appears in that section. I guess its just their way ofr making sure everything is in the correct place. With so many threads- and different forum areas it must get messed up at times when people dont post in the right area.

It is nice to read about different cultures etc how things are diffent in places you have never been to and probably never will.... But maybe if you want your off topic threads to stay in the duck forum....you can include something about ducks inthem so the mods dont move them.

hey katharina ~~ what a nice nice story... I luv child hood memories, glad someone found it and you still got to share... I also agree with u on sharing with duck friends.. I very seldom look in other sections. That story would not mean much to me if I read it from someone in another forum that I DIDNT know. Im very very fond of my duck friends here and almost cant imagine life without ya"ll.. I guess I dont understand the rules. hmmmmm.

I didn't get a chance to read it (because I didn't see it), but I will.

Stinks they couldn't even leave it for a day or so, so we could have known it was there.

I know this forum is almost like a separate world from the rest of the forum, and I feel a special kinship with you guys and don't know many people from the others. I would want to share my stories here too, and it is a bummer that we can't post more personal topics here.

edit: read it and replied.

Hi Katharina,

I'm sorry you're upset about your story being moved (now viewable in Random ramblings https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=425467 ).

Since BYC has grown so much it seems even more important for the mods to keep threads as organized as possible. That said, I also love the DUCK forum but over the last 6 months have ventured into other forums too. It is unbelievable how much info is on BYC in all the many, many delightful forums. Venture away from the duck forum from time to time, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I loved your story as you & I have discussed (in the past) my childhood memories of living in Berlin Germany. Thank you for sharing your detailed reminiscenses, it brought it all back to life for me again

Perhaps you should have asked someone on staff where the thread went rather than post complaining about moderation, which, by the way, is against the BYC forum rules. I never saw it. If there was no re-direct, it was probably a simple mistake.
